Tamtam Unveils Saudi Arabia’s First Public Music Database

Saudi artist Tamtam, founder of Goast Flower, has launched The Saudi Music Community—the country’s first public database for the music industry. This platform connects artists, producers, and executives across Saudi, fostering collaboration and growth locally and globally.

Since its launch in August 2024, the initiative has gained momentum. Tamtam created it to bridge a gap she personally felt as an artist, realizing there was no central space for industry professionals to connect. “The only way to build a strong music scene is by connecting, supporting, and collaborating,” she explained. She also shared on social media: “This is a public document that we can keep adding to. Let’s just have fun. That’s what music is all about; it’s about expressing ourselves and having fun, and what’s a better way than to start from home?”

By simplifying connections and strengthening industry ties, the initiative lays the foundation for a more dynamic Saudi music scene. Tamtam envisions it as a go-to resource for collaboration and a stronger support system. “It all starts with building the foundation, and I want this to be a tool that helps create real opportunities for people,” she added.

The launch aligns with Saudi Arabia’s growing and thriving music scene, supported by programs hosted by the Music Commission like San‘ah, which nurtures Saudi talent. Beyond the database, Tamtam hopes to expand engagement through in-person events and small Zoom sessions where industry figures can connect. “The goal is to create a space where people can learn from each other and build real, lasting relationships,” she explains.

By spearheading this initiative, Tamtam reinforces the role of Saudi artists in shaping the nation’s cultural identity. The platform paves the way for a new generation of musicians to collaborate, innovate, and position Saudi music on the world stage.
