As the The Middle East Event Show (MEES) 2025 came to a close in Dubai, it marked another milestone for the region’s fast-growing live entertainment and events industry. Among the standout moments of the night, Live Nation Middle East, in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi (DCT) – Abu Dhabi, took home two of the most prestigious awards for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour – Abu Dhabi: “Best Event Marketing Campaign of the Year” and “Best Music Event.”

This series of concerts that took place in Abu Dhabi, from the 9th til the 14th of April 2025, wasn’t just a global tour stop—it was a cultural landmark for the region. The show’s success went beyond its groundbreaking sustainability-driven production and sold-out status. It also made history with Elyanna, the Palestinian-Chilean rising star, becoming the first Arab artist to open for Coldplay. Her presence on that stage was more than an opening act—it symbolized a shift in how regional artists are stepping onto the world stage, and bringing Arabic music to global audiences.

Held at Sheikh Maktoum Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre, the 16th edition of Middle East Event Awards (MEES) celebrated the creative forces driving the future of live experiences. With over 1,000 industry leaders in attendance, the ceremony spotlighted how music-led productions are reshaping the region’s entertainment landscape.

Though the evening celebrated the events industry at large, music maintained a strong presence throughout it. Coldplay’s double win was a testament to that, joined by the recognition of Kayan Wellness Festival 2025 as “Best Festival of the Year,” underscoring how music continues to enhance cultural and community-driven experiences.

“This region is entering an ultra-accelerated era of event expansion, particularly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” said Amar Daginawala, Exhibition Director at Informa Middle East. As the organizer of MEEs, Informa has played a central role in showcasing the region’s growing entertainment scene. Informa’s portfolio also includes the upcoming Saudi Events Awards in September 2025 — the Kingdom’s first-ever awarding ceremony dedicated to celebrating excellence in events, with 7 categories from Arts, Entertainment and Festivals to Corporate, Community and Marketing.

The next chapter unfolds in Riyadh on the 18th of September, with the inaugural Saudi Event Awards, a clear signal of the region’s growing influence in the global entertainment and live music industries.

As MEES 2025 closes, one thing is certain: the Middle East’s live entertainment industry is evolving—and music is at the heart of it.
