Sifiso Gcabashe also known as House of Rhythm in the music and creative community wears a few hats with a multi layered background. Sifiso has over 14+ years as a vinyl collector, Dj, podcaster, radio presenter, music researcher and cultural curator. As a Johannesburg/ Joburg (South Africa ) Native, Sifiso has become one of the leading music and event curators in SA. He has spent 14 years working across industries as a Marketing manager, brand Strategist and a consultant in the creative Arts . As a creative House Of Rhythm has focused a greater part of his professional and freelance career working in music. He is a firm believer in impact driven work and projects, ensuring that everything he touches creates value for others and especially the creative music community. His professional career has been a combination of corporate marketing and consultancy in the creative arts , working with businesses such as Red Bull (Head Of Innovation, tech and creative entrepreneurship ), Government Arts and Culture (Arts Alive, Jazz in The Lights, Strategic execution of township music and event compliance projects) , City of Joburg (Smart city projects, Kreative Native Festival , Aluta Nova Festival ) KZN film festival, KZN music house and arts center, Tshimologong innovation Precinct and supported and lead arts and creative projects in Brazil, India , Baltimore, UK, Austria, Namibia and Nigeria. Sifiso has been an advocate for African music and its prioritisation since his early years as a radio presenter. In 2017 Sifiso also created The Dig ZA which is an alternative music platform that operates both as an agency and event curation business. He is also one of the 3 owners of Artivist/ Untitled basement which is a multi functional music hub, restaurant , gallery and one of South Africa's leading live music venues. He is also an avid believer in the potential of Africa music new and old to be a bridge that connects Africa to the rest of the world.
