Maii Waleed

Maii Waleed is a singer-songwriter from Egypt. She was born and raised in Alexandria in 1988. She is also a pianist and guitarist. Furthermore, she used to play drums in the all-girl Metal band Mascara.

She was also once part of Telepoetic, an Electro-Rock Egyptian ensemble. She dropped her EP album, Moga, which Zeid Hamdan produced, in May 2013. Waleed describes her songs as “very sad, based on disappointment, on my life”. Many of them focus on themes of love and identity.
