Hamid El Shaeri

Hamid al-Shaeri is a Libyan-Egyptian singer, composer, songwriter, and music producer residing in Egypt. He is considered one of the most influential figures in Arabic pop, pioneering the incorporation of western music styles such as synth-pop and rock and roll into traditional Arabic music, which came to be known as ‘Al-Jeel’. Al-Shaeri is best known for his contributions to the golden era of Arabic with his music production on hits such as ‘Nour Al-Aien’, which won a World Music Award, as well as ‘Jaljili’, ‘ouda’ and ‘Ayonha’ in which he sings himself, the latter surging in global popularity following its re-release by German producer Habibi Funk 2017.
