Bombino (Niger)

Meditative and earthy, Niger-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Bombino evokes the expansiveness of the Sahara in his work. In 2017, Bombino and his group recorded their album, Deran, which was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 2019 Grammys, the first ever nomination for an artist from Niger. Regardless of the challenges life throws at him, Bombino marches ever forward on his mission to use music to spread love, understanding, and the beauty of Tuareg culture throughout the world.
