Ahmed Zainal

A Bahraini Techno, House and Electronica Producer and DJ, Ahmed Zainal (QWRK, Ed Buzzerk, Slim Fit Tea) has been delving in the underbelly of the Bahraini music scene for over 20 years. He has performed at MDL Beast Soundstorm (2021 & 2023) in Riyadh, Boiler Room Bahrain (2021), and Balad Beast 2022 in Jeddah. His sound moves between minimal, bass-driven deep house and percussion-infused disco, house, and left-field electronica, drawing from Arabic, African, and Latin influences. Beyond his solo work, Ahmed thrives on collaboration – from his guitar-based techno duo Slim Fit Tea with 7MND to XO, an improvisational electronic platform exploring the intersection of structure and chaos in live performance. A passionate curator, he also hosted Rumble in the Depths, a radio show spotlighting Bahrain’s underground scene. Zainal’s work bridges groove, experimentation, and cultural rhythm – a reflection of his roots and his restless creative drive.
