MERON T
Hailing from South London, vocalist and singer-songwriter Meron T’s soul-filled sound
is rooted in R&B, and neo-soul yet ever-evolving. Drawing inspiration from UK club
culture, and sounds of the Diaspora, Meron counts her London upbringing and East
African heritage as key influences. Standing out from the crowd with her silky tones,
Meron lures her listeners with warm vocal layers and intricate melodies, seamlessly
traversing many tempos and production styles.
In 2020 Meron made waves with her collaboration single ‘Standing There’ – taken
from the debut album from ‘The Silhouettes Project’. Bringing in a new audience,
Meron reached her first Million streams. Following on from the success of her 2018
single ‘Hunny’, and later singles ‘Can We’ and ‘Escape’, Meron T released her debut
project – Mirage EP – at the end of 2019.
2022 was a milestone year for the rising star, with the release of her A/B side singles
‘Everything’ and ‘Don’t Let’ with frequent collaborator Sey G, and more recent
collaborations with East London producer Nikhil Beats on ‘Face Your Demons’. Her
recent collaboration with British-Ghanaian producer Hagan on ‘My Love’, as well as
her debut headline show in July and her debut international show in Amsterdam has
seen her truly cement her name in the scene.
Having started the year off showing a new evolved sound with Amapiano sizzler ‘State
of Mind’, this summer saw the rising star debut across an array of UK festivals, namely
Glastonbury Festival, Cross the Tracks, We Out Here and Cloud X Festival, as well as
an international festival first at ‘Banileues Bleues’ in Paris with ‘The Silhouettes Project’
collective in Spring. In terms of radio, June saw Meron selected to take part in
CassKidd’s BBCXtra segment ‘On Air Demo’ with producer ‘Karen Nyame KG’ - in
which they were challenged to create and debut a song live on air before the end of the
month.
This year also saw Meron further cement her presence as a DJ as well as a singer/
songwriter, with her first monthly radio residency on ‘The BoAt Pod. It is clear that this
year has been Meron T’s biggest and busiest yet, so keep your eyes peeled for the
future of this multi-faceted artist.
