Don Cannon

Super star producer Don Cannon, world renowned dj.

Philadelphia-born producer, DJ, mogul, and Generation Now co-founder Don Cannon has built a formidable legacy behind the board, on stage, and as an executive. His beats have drawn the fire of era-defining legends and rising trendsetters alike. As his first placement, he produced Young Jeezy’s “Go Crazy” [feat. JAY-Z] from the 2005 platinum classic Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101. That beat would get the freestyle treatment by Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, Ghostface Killah, Mary J. Blige, and numerous other heavyweights. During 2006, he dropped the iconic “Cannon Remix,” which attracted over 100 different talents. Throughout the next decade-plus, he produced songs for everyone from Logic, 2 Chainz, and Pusha T to Estelle and Macy Gray. He worked on seminal mixtapes such as Big Sean’s Finally Famous, Vol. 3 and Pharrell’s In My Mind (Prequel), to name a few. Following Generation Now’s signing of Lil Uzi Vert, he produced the double-platinum smash “Money Longer.” XXL named Cannon among the “30 Best Hip-Hop Producers of the Year” for 2016. He personally produced and co-wrote six songs—”Two®”, “The Way Life Goes” [feat. Oh Wonder], “No Sleep Leak,” “UnFazed” [feat. The Weeknd], and “Pretty Mami”—from Uzi’s chart-topping platinum-certified 2017 epic Luv Is Rage 2.

Cannon also established himself as a venerable executive and respected businessman. Joining the Def Jam team as Vice President of A&R in 2012, he spearheaded key releases by YG, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, Jeremih, Logic, and more. His acumen proved indispensable to Generation Now. As a visionary executive, he co-founded the label alongside Drama and Leighton “Lake Show” Morrison. Moreover, he co-owns and operates the Atlanta juice bar Ju-Tox. A dynamic sense of diversity defines his approach behind the board and in the boardroom.
