The Soundstorm 2023 Music Festival kicks off on Thursday 14 December in the Saudi capital Riyadh and runs for three days, featuring more than 200 of the brightest starts from around the globe in the biggest annual music festival in the Middle East and North Africa region. Soundstorm is organized by MDLBEAST, a leading Saudi music entertainment company, dedicated to showcasing both established and emerging local, regional, and global talent.

Over the course of the three-day festival on 14-15-16 December, audience will enjoy a unique window to the top music concerts with over 250 hours of live music, including 180 unique shows and music experiences on 8 different stages, each offering its special atmosphere and experience to music lovers across a space of 1.2 million square meters. The number of live music hours equals dancing non-stop for more than 10 days.

This year, Soundstorm is set to feature a very strong lineup of the biggest international stars, including Travis Scott, 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown, Calvin Harris, and Alan Walker. Alongside Arab music superstars like Amr Diab, Elissa, Rabeh Saqr, Nancy Ajram, Dalia Mubarak, Ahmed Saad, and Ruby.

The festival will also present some of the biggest music bands such as Metalica, Black Eyed Peas, and Swedish Mafia House, with many top DJs like Martin Garrix, Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Disco Misr, Black Coffee, and Saudi female DJ Cosmicat.

The event’s slogan “GET READY FOR THE STORM” reflects the anticipation for the variety of artistic atmospheres across the eight stages, from the main 'Big Beast' stage which will feature all the superstar headliners, to the other stages that will be stormed with the finest of music, from pop melodies, rock tempo, rap and hip-hop beats, to indie vibes and R&B charm, and the dancing waves and live pulses of electro music.

Stages were built with an eye for international safety and security standards, led by the Big Beast that its 200-meter width and 34-meter height. The 'Big Beast' stage was constructed using more than 1,000 tons of steel. The eight stages will feature 54 acts per night, 162 acts in total over the course of three days, with 16 site performances bringing the total to 180 shows.

Among the festival’s many amazing segments, two shows will use more than 2,200 drones, while more than 300,000 LED bracelets will be synced with the main music performances and the bests of DJ shows.

For the full experience, Soundstorm presents the Cyberpunk Village, a sensory wonderland for games and entertainment; and offers 173 food and beverage options from different cuisines catering to the different tastes of the audience; as well as parking lots for more than 86,000 cars.

Moreover, the crew members behind the festival’s success, including partners and vendors, belong to over 25 nationalities from around the globe, and are working around the clock. The Soundstorm facilities require more than 153,900 working hours of cleaning necessary to maintain the site in tip top shape. Over 417,000 crew meals will be served over the full course of the show, equivalent to catering for 464 fully-booked A380 aircrafts, flying from Dubai to London’s Heathrow Airport.

In a first for a Saudi art festival, one of the stages will be powered with clean energy, using biofuel, while the Artists Village will be powered by hydrogen fuel. In addition, the festival’s restaurants will use environmentally-friendly 100% biodegradable compostable cutlery and crockery instead of plastics, among many other sustainable practices including recycling, water treatment, in support of the Kingdom’s vision towards a greener future.
