General Manager, MDL Beast Records
Job Summary
Leadership position driving the creation and growth of a new regional record label, discovering and exporting the best creative talent across the Middle East as well as delivering releases featuring international DJ talent performing at MDLBEAST events.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Establishing business objectives and 5 year growth agenda
- Developing and defining the brand, genre and positioning of constituent labels
- Building a leading artist discovery operation, harnessing the best A&R talent, technology and tools
- Overseeing marketing and promotions, initially leveraging distribution partner services and freelancers but quickly scaling internal resources
- Leveraging an international network of industry partners for productive partnerships (Producers, Songwriters, Labels and distribution partners)
- Nurture key staff within their respective areas to deliver the best service possible for a rapidly growing roster of artists
- Provide a significant authoritative growth in negotiations with business partners
- Be the face of the record label to the music industry and media, providing thought leadership to grow the entire regional ecosystem
- Quickly build out initial team with immediate hires including A&R Manager, Label Manager (Product & Marketing), A&R Coordinator
Qualifications and Experience
Significant international experience in a leadership position at a record label
Experience in launching and scaling a business
Passion for leveraging technology, trends and insights for the benefit of creative artistry
Knowledge of the regional music sceneInternational industry network
